Belated Halloween Post

This year Mom was given the task of helping the kids carve the pumpkins while Daddy took pictures...I am noticing that this is becoming a trend!

We were lucky enough to be able to reuse last year's costumes.  Fortunately, the kids were still happy to wear them.

We found our way back to the "Trunk or Treat" at the church up the road.

Later that evening, we met up with Gabe's friend Aiden from school and they did some trick or treating at the mall.

Ice Skating

Today, Daddy took us ice skating for the first time at the Winter Festival sponsored by the Rochester Figure Skating Club.  Mom hadn't been skating since before Gabe was born and the kids had never been.  It was quite an experience for all of us.  Gabe took his turn first and he did pretty well holding Mom's hand.

Claire was definitely more comfortable observing from the sidelines but she did get on the ice for a little while.

The kids took turns going out on the ice with Mom while Daddy stood and watched from the outside of the rink.  When they were waiting, they stood by Daddy and held onto the edge.

Claire would ask to be carried every time she felt like she was losing her balance.

We challenged Gabe to skate across the rink by himself and he was able to do it.  Maybe his goal of being a hockey player will be accomplished soon.

After awhile of skating, we went to the gymnasium and got cookies, hot chocolate, and face painting.
